The Sewing Machine Association Ireland (SMAI) has been created to encourage, promote, and support everyone working across the sewing machine trade — from one-person workshops to industrial service providers, sewing machine retailers, clothing alteration and haberdashery shops, machine service technicians, and those in clothing manufacturing.
Our aim is to build a supportive, all-Ireland network where professionalism is recognised and trusted.
Whether you repair, supply, maintain, or train others in sewing machine skills, SMAI exists to raise standards, share knowledge, and give you a collective voice within this growing and essential trade.
